Insignificant… Reflection for July 31, 2005

Five loaves… two fishes… too little… too ordinary… insignigficant!  But with these "insignificant offerings", more than five thousand were fed! Come to think of it, we are like those five loaves and two fishes. We are insignificant!  We are just like the little grains of sands on a vast sea shore.  But God got hold of our insignificantness and fashion us into becoming significant… CHILDREN OF GOD!  We are blessed, broken and shared so that others might be fed and have life! As I look now on my life as a priest, I see more my being insignificant in God’s eyes.  With all my weaknesses and sins, I see my unworthiness in front of Him.  But God continues to get hold of me… blessing me… breaking me… sharing me to others! Amazing grace! Lord, make me a worthy instrument of your Grace! Deo Gratias!

TANGING YAMAN… Reflection for July 24, 2005

What is your treasure in life? What do you value most? What is most significant to you? Go to your private room if you have one. Examine your cherished possessions… what do you consider most important? Go to the private room of your heart… whom do you value most? Uuupps… me nakalimutan ka ata. Nasabi mo na bang… MAHAL KO ANG DIYOS? Na Siya ang Tanging Yaman ko? Father and corny mo! At least bago ako mamatay nasabi kong… LORD MAHAL KITA! Ikaw ang aking TANGING YAMAN… AMEN!

God of 2nd Chance… Reflection for July 17, 2005

"  Valid question… My answer is "Be patient… because God is patient with you!"  Yes, the parable of the weeds among the wheat is not only a picture of good and evil in the world.  We might miss the point that it is a picture of a VERY PATIENT GOD! God has been very patient with us… hanggang ngayon!  Kasi alam niya mabuti kang tao. HE IS THE GOD OF 2ND CHANCE!  Minsan nga, 3rd chance… 4th chance… 5th chance…

Upcoming Sunday Reflections

Ei guys…!!! Watch out! Starting this Sunday I will be posting short reflections on the Gospel. It’s my little way of making God’s Word hi-tech and relevant in today’s world. Walang lang! Na-inspire lang kasi ako sa Gospel nung last Sunday… on the "Efficacy of God’s Word". Totoo nga naman! God is like that farmer who sows the "seed" of His Word not minding what kind of soil you are. He still hopes that someday we will all be rich soil absorbing His Words in our hearts. But this will not happen if nobody will have the courage and initiative to sow! Kaya i will try to be one of God’s co-helpers in this work of sowing His "Seeds". (Ang ilan syempre… hindi! hehehe) May this coming short reflections help both church and non-church goers get something from the efficacy of God’s Word. "Makinig ang may pandinig!"
