BATUHIN MO NG CELLPHONE! Reflection for September 11, 2005
"Kapag binato ka ng bato… batuhin mo ng tinapay!" Luma na yon! Mas maganda, "kapag binato ka ng bato… batuhin mo ng cellphone!" Yung 5110 para mas mabigat! hehehe… The Gospel for this Sunday may seem unrealistic! Tell this to the victims of the Sept 11 terroristic attack… (By the way, its their anniversary last sunday). Tell the word "forgive" to the victims of senseless deaths and henious crimes and you can read their lips saying… sira ka ba??? The adage "To err is human… to forgive is divine!" is perhaps true. The Gospel o affirms that in the person of that King who wrought off the debt of his official who owes him so much. God is that "King"! Magnanimous in mercy. But did you ever thought that his forgiveness expects something in return from that official. May kapalit yun no? At ang kapalit ay… magpatawad ka rin! "to forgive is divine" but God is expecting us to forgive just as he had forgiven us! Woe to us if we cannot accept this teaching. If a God can forgive us… how much more we.. His useless creatures? Do we pretend to be greater than Him?
