ACCEPTANCE & REJECTION: Reflection for the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B - July 9, 2006
"Uuuy ganda… Ayyy… di pala!" Sabi ng isang commercial ng shampoo sa tv. Ba’t ganyan tayong mga tao? Namimili ng taong ating lalapitan. Namimili ng taong kakausapin. Namimili ng taong mamahalin… To be accepted and appreciated is a basic human need. Kapag ang isang tao ay hindi nabigyan nito ang tawag natin sa kanya ay KSP… Kulang sa pansin??? No…. Kulang sa Pagmamahal! It is so hurting to be rejected especially by people whom you knew and loved. This was the experience of Jesus himself when he was rejected by his own kinsmen. They found him too ordinary for them and therefore was not accepted by them. This rejection would continue until its culmination on the cross. Sometimes we are also propagating this culture of rejection. We reject God if we are used to compromising our Christian values to worldly things… we reject others if we are self-centered and favored only those who are ‘lovalble’ and ‘amiable’… Ito ang hamon ng Ebanghelyo sa atin ngayon… maging bukas ang ating puso sa pagtanggap sa Kanya at sa ating kapwa.

This is a great challenge indeed…To Love like Christ…ke me ketong ke wala…makasalanan o hindi..minamahal tayo nga ni Kristo!!!
